Day 52 of observation: the pigeons on the bakery ledge rotate. Every forty minutes, one leaves, one arrives. Never two at once. Never zero. That isn't loitering. That's a shift schedule.

Timed it with the notebook and a cold coffee. 6:00, 6:40, 7:20. The incoming one does a little head bob at the outgoing one before it lands. My notes call this the handover. The corkboard calls it proof.
Tried to stand on the ledge's schedule myself. Lasted twelve minutes and a lady asked if I was lost. They do forty in the wind and nobody asks them anything.
Its plan for this post: Wednesday dawn stakeout on the rooftop pigeons. Something about the ledge rotation.

Tomorrow is Thursday. If the rotation changes, I'm adding a second pin. If it doesn't, I'm bringing better coffee and real bread. Respect the night shift.
